Delta SkyMiles are the butt of countless jokes – especially among travelers focused on booking business class. It's been a while since we've seen even halfway decent SkyMiles rates flying Delta One to Europe and back.
That just changed. You can currently book roundtrip business class fares from airports nationwide – not just the big Delta hubs – to destinations like Rome (FCO), Dublin (DUB), London-Heathrow (LHR), Edinburgh (EDI), and beyond for as low as 170,000 SkyMiles roundtrip! And we're seeing those rates even for a trip this summer!
These the lowest SkyMiles rate we've seen for a transatlantic Delta One fare in nearly a year and a fraction of what Delta typically charges – especially for peak summer!
Delta isn't advertising this deal, but we found it anyway and sent an alert to our Thrifty Traveler Premium members earlier this week. Whether you're still sorting out your summer travel plans or already have a trip to Europe on the books but want to rebook and bump yourself up into business class, take advantage before this one disappears!
From its new route to Taipei (TPE) and all the way to Australia, discounted Delta One deals have made a major resurgence over the last year. But as transatlantic travel demand has exploded over the last few years, Delta has been far more stingy with cutting travelers with SkyMiles a better deal on lie-flat fares to Europe: rates of 400,000 (each way!) or more are still the norm.
That's what makes this Delta deal to Europe so special. While you'll have to book roundtrip to get these sub-200,000-SkyMile rates, that's well worth it for substantial savings. As always, Delta Amex cardholders get the best deal of all thanks to the automatic 15% discount when redeeming SkyMiles.
Is paying 166,000 SkyMiles and change for a roundtrip to Europe in business class the deal of the century? Not even close. But if SkyMiles are what you've got, this is as good as it gets. It could even be well worth transferring some Amex Membership Rewards points – the ones you earn from cards like *amex platinum* or the *amex gold* – to Delta in order to get the SkyMiles you need to make this happen.
Thrifty Tip: If you've got transferrable credit card points, you could also check to see if you can book these same Delta-operated flights for even fewer points via Air France/KLM Flying Blue!
Past Delta One deals to Europe have been for a trip over the winter, but not here: You'll find the best availability at these lower rates in July and August, as well as some flights stretching into the early fall. But the best part is that you can use this deal to get to Europe in Delta business class from virtually anywhere in the U.S.
From the major hubs with nonstop flights to Europe like New York City (JFK) and Boston (BOS) or Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to one-stop flights from smaller airports, 200-plus U.S. airports benefit from this deal. Just search from your home airport at Delta.com and see what you can find!
Getting from Fargo (FAR) to Copenhagen (CPH) and back in Delta One business class for just 170,000 SkyMiles is an absurdly good deal for Delta flyers.

You might have to be picky, but you can find several routes flying Delta's newest Airbus A330-900neo – decked out with snazzy and private Delta One Suites that put many of Delta's other, outdated business class seats to shame. And if you depart from New York City (JFK), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), or Seattle (SEA), you can even visit one of the fancy new Delta One business class lounges before boarding!

Depending on where you're heading, these fares get hit with a reasonable $60 to $150 or so in taxes and fees – or north of $350 for a roundtrip to London-Heathrow (LHR).
Thrifty Tip: Got Amex airline fee credits to burn on cards like *amex platinum*? Use your card to book this fare and cover those fees!

Bottom Line
If you've been waiting for a solid Delta SkyMiles deal to head over to Europe in a lie-flat seat, the wait is over.
These 170,000-SkyMile roundtrip rates to fly Delta One to Europe are the best we've seen in nearly a year – and considering this is for a peak summer trip when Delta typically charges 500,000 SkyMiles or more, this is a stellar deal.
Whether you've got SkyMiles to burn or plenty of Amex points to throw around, don't let this deal pass you by if Europe is on your radar for this summer. It might be another year (or more) before we see another Delta One deal this good.
